Blazer Measurement
- Collar to shoulder: Place the measuring tape at the middle of the collar and pull down to the tip of the shoulder
- Shoulder to sleeve: Measure from the tip of the shoulder down to the bottom of the sleeve
- Shoulder to shoulder: Place the measuring tape at the corner of one shoulder and pull across to the other shoulder. This is an important measurement as some people typically wear the same size but have different shoulder widths.
- Upper arm width: Place the measuring tape in the middle of the upper arm and measure from one side of the sleeve to the other.This measurement is important when it comes to bicep size.
- Forearm width: Place the measuring tape in the middle of the forearm and measure from one side of the sleeve across to the other.
- Chest width: Measure from the bottom of one armhole across the chest to the bottom of the opposite armhole.
- Waist width: Place the measuring tape where the natural waist would fall, usually a bit lower than halfway down the blazer, and measure from one side of the jacket across to the other.
- Front length: Place the measuring tape in the middle of the collar and pull it down vertically to the bottom of the jacket.
- Hip width: Measure from one of the bottom corners of the jacket across to the other.
- Sleeve hole width: Measure the width of the sleeve by placing the measuring tape at one corner of the sleeve hold and pulling it across to the other side.
Shirt Measurement
- Neck to Shoulder: Measure from the middle of the neck to end of shoulder (where the sleeve starts).
- Sleeve length (A): Measure from the center back of collar to the end of shoulder.
- Sleeve length (B): Measure from the shoulder to the wrist.
- Shoulder to Shoulder: Measure this length from one shoulder to another.
- Chest: Measure around the fullest part, place the tape close under the arms and make sure the tape is flat across the back.
- Front Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder to the desired hemline.
- Hem: Measure from one side to another, but it is vital to take this measurement from above the elastic area (If sweatshirt have any).
- Sleeve cuff: At the widest point of the wrist, measure its circumference. Leave enough room for watches or jewelry worn often. Take this measurement from above the elastic area same as Hem length measurement
Jacket Measurement
- Chest is measured along line 1.
- Shoulder is measured along line 2, from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.
- Sleeve Length is measured from point 3 to 4. (Point 3 is the centre seam on the inside of the jacket neck).
- Back Length is measured along line 5, one the back of the jacket. (From the seam at the base ofthe collar to the bottom hem of the jacket).
Dress Measurement
- Chest: Place the tape close under the armhole and measure from side seam to side seam.
- Waist: This is the narrowest part of the waist. Place the tape from side to side directly at the waistline.
- Hip: Place the tape approximately 7–9 inches below the natural waistline and measure from side to side at the hip line.
- Flare: This is the length of the flare of your dress. Flare is the bottom wide length of your dress.
- Strap to Hem: This is the length from the top of the strap down to the hem.
- Waist to Hem: This is the length from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the hemline.
